Highlights from our recent event
An investor forum is more than an event. It's where founders meet the people who can help them grow.
Our most recent gathering brought together investors, entrepreneurs and a wide range of ecosystem partners for a day focused on connection, learning and deal-making. The room held a mix of early-stage founders, experienced business leaders, support organisations and members of the emerging angel community — all there to explore what it takes to move ideas toward investment.
What We Explored Together
The session was structured around conversation and practice rather than presentation alone.
Founders shared their businesses and received feedback on their models, pitch approach and next steps. Investors discussed what they look for before considering a commitment — clarity on market, a path to growth, and the readiness to take on partners. Ecosystem partners added perspective on how founders can strengthen their preparation and where to find the right support.
The value was not only in the formal programme but also in the connections made between sessions — introductions that often become the starting point for mentorship, collaboration or future investment discussions.
For the 265 Business Angels team, these gatherings are an important part of building the ecosystem one relationship at a time.
Looking Ahead: Innovation Commercialization Seminar — September 17
We are now looking toward our next gathering.
On September 17, we will host the Innovation Commercialization Seminar: Intellectual Property Registration & Management at SPARC Systems Africa Limited, Lilongwe. The seminar will be held in a hybrid format — physical and virtual — with physical attendance managed to keep the space interactive.
This session is designed for innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and creatives who want to understand how to turn ideas into assets.
We will explore:
- Understanding patents, trademarks and copyright
- IP licensing, technology transfer and valuation
- How intellectual property can unlock investment and market opportunities
Whether you are protecting a brand, a product, a creative work or a research outcome, the seminar will offer practical guidance on registration and on managing intellectual property as part of your growth path.
Registration is open, with details available through our Events page. If you work with founders who would benefit from this conversation, please share the invitation.
